With over 30 years of experience in health & safety, risk management, and compliance, I bring a lifetime of professional expertise, delivered with a warm smile and a love of a good challenge. I’ve worked across policing, local government, housing, education and consultancy, giving me a unique and comprehensive understanding of safety, governance, and regulatory frameworks.
Over the years, I’ve held senior leadership roles such as Head of Health & Safety, Head of Resident Safety, and Operational H&S Manager, where I’ve led major fire safety improvement programmes, managed borough-wide compliance initiatives, partnered with agencies like the London Fire Brigade, and overseen critical risk, asbestos, and incident investigation processes. I’m also a qualified health and safety professional and a chartered member of IOSH. I am also a certified fire risk assessor and hold the P405 in Asbestos. I have led the development of policies, training programmes, emergency response plans, contractor management systems, and a whole host of organisational safety strategies.
Before joining THN, I spent time living in Cyprus teaching English—because clearly I can’t resist an adventure. That spirit hasn’t changed; I still love taking on the tricky stuff, solving problems, and helping build safer, stronger, well-governed environments.
Outside work, my world is happily full: four wonderful children, two very spoiled dogs, horse riding, cross stitching, and life on my narrowboat, which is my peaceful floating escape. And yes, I’m a very proud Welsh woman and passionate Liverpool supporter.
Around THN, I’m often complimented on always smiling… which is easy when you love what you do and the people you do it with.
If you ever need help, advice, or just a friendly face, I’m always here, probably with a cup of tea, definitely with a smile.
