How Local Authorities have taken a different approach – combining the best of third, public and private Sector DNA – to tackle subsidy loss, whilst simultaneously ensuring improved housing, health & wellbeing outcomes for households.

Demand for temporary accommodation (TA) continues to grow, placing local authority (LA) finances under more pressure than ever. Making the system of trying to manage TA costs in line with January 2011 LHA rates (minus 10%) simply unsustainable.

At the same time, levels and complexity of need and risk amongst those living in TA are increasing, with no obvious route to sustainable funding to meet those needs. Meaning single-people and families could be placed at even further risk of harm and trauma.

This session provides a practical roadmap of how several local authorities have achieved improved housing, health & wellbeing outcomes for single-people and families – whilst reducing subsidy loss by +75% for some households.
