Katarzyna found The Housing Network through the Coventry Council; one of the local authorities we partner with, and she was swiftly attended to and placed in our supported shared accommodation.
“When I got pregnant, things got harder, and I moved from various housing support systems around London before I eventually gave birth. My daughter, currently five months, had to be put into the care of social services while I worked out my housing situation”.
After rough sleeping on the streets for five months and being moved around between accommodations for three months while pregnant, she is relieved to finally have some level of stability and support.
“It’s feels very good. I finally don’t have to be worried about needing a place to sleep and I can focus on other issues. I’m not religious but I thank whoever’s out there for them everyday. The staff encourage me all the time and I really appreciate it”
After her experience, Katarzyna is looking forward to finally getting her own place.
“I am going to do all I can to get my daughter back and move on with my life. This is just a phase and I really look forward to living with my daughter”
Homelessness is a lived experience- it is not forever.
